I’ve wanted to go to Orkney and Shetland for a while and couldn’t do one without the other. So we took the opportunity of 10 days in late summer to do bits of both. With the ferry to Shetland being so long we had both had enough of ferries so didn’t hop round all the smaller islands. Instead we spent several days relaxing without driving at all/ much and did more in the way of investigating places.
